Riverland Football League

Website Design | 2022

Designing a website inclusive of all 5 League teams, plus the Independent teams (at the time of build).

THE BRIEF:

To design a website which promoted the Riverland Football League by providing information of each club, and the league as a whole.

The league is a big one. Comprised of 6 League Clubs and 5 Women clubs, the league had never owned a website platform, until now. Each of the clubs have their own page, filled with their relevant information. Most importantly, they have links to the new PlayHQ Website, a much more streamline and easy process to find results and statistics. All links are active and updated each season, from A Grade, down to Under 9’s.

To aid this, another Riverland Local, Cameron Dixon from @dixoncreative and I held Media Days. 5 of the League clubs took up the opportunity to promote themselves through images (taken by myself) and videography created by Cam. These are featured on the website and make each page a standout.

From my social posts “For some statistics, the website has 31 active pages, over 1220 lines of CSS code, and two very exciting tables with each over 400 lines of HTML code. Having the ability to customise and make the website my own is both a standout feature and privilege”.

A few more features include the RFL Tab; information about the current Commission and Personnel, Sponsors and the all exciting Trophy Room. Here you’ll find history on the Premierships, Life Members, RFL players to SANFL and the Whillas Medal Recipients.

Finally, Grant Schwartzkopff’s photos are second to none. They helped fill the gaps where I wasn’t able to, due to the time constraints of the project. But was launched in time, just before the 2022 season commenced!

Slices of the 5 clubs for the Riverland Football Website

Cam and I hired multi-coloured bar lights to use as as background to the photos. Created the dark atmosphere that we were going for… after all, the clubs are rivals!
